Fostoria: Its First Fifty Years -
Reference Book
One of the most
useful reference books on Fostoria was this one, written by Hazel
Marie Weatherman, released in 1972 and reprinted in 1985. It's
long out of print, but still contains a tremendous amount of
information on Fostoria glass over the course of the first fifty
years of the company (1887 - 1947). You'll find things in this
book that are shown in no others. We occasionally pick up an
extra copy and if we have one in stock, it's priced at
$85.00. This is a valuable out-of-print
reference for the serious collector.

"American" was and is the longest continually produced pattern in American made glassware. Fostoria introduced it in 1915 and continued production through 1986 when the Company was sold to Lancaster Colony Corporation. Lancaster Colony had the "American" pattern made by another glass company for several years after the Fostoria factory itself was closed.
We normally don't carry a great deal of "American", as there are many other dealers who specialize in it. We do, however, carry the unusual or scarce pieces when we can find them. Here are those we currently have in inventory.

"Fairfax" is a pattern that we try to have in stock in most of the colors. There is quite a following out there for the plain "Fairfax" pattern, which is the "blank" used for most of Fostoria's colored etched patterns (e.g. "June", "Versailles", "Kashmir", "Trojan"). Pink and blue are the two fastest moving colors; in our opinion, the amber "Fairfax" sets one of the most beautiful tables of any of the elegant glass patterns.
Fostoria Glass Company made so many different patterns over the years that we can't justify having a table for each one. This table lists some of the other Fostoria pieces that we have that might be of interest to collectors.
